Farmall Hill Mountain Bike Challenge (FHMBC) began in August of 2000 as a three-race summer series. The mountain bike course is a 2.0-mile loop through the hills of Fairport, NY. The course has earned the reputation, the
no recovery race. The course is predominantly single track, quick climbs, fast descents and very little recovery in between, making for a great race.
May 2003, the spring series premiered and is now considered the start of the mountain bike race season for Upstate New York mountain bike riders. In 2003, the summer series was skipped as the race director was getting married. Both the spring and summer races returned for the 2004 season. The summer series continued from 2003 until 2011 but was skipped until it reappeared for 2014 and 2015 race seasons.
The Farmall Hill Mountain Bike Challenge draws an average of 50 to 70 individual mountain bike riders per race. There can be more than 100 individual riders participating in a single series. A great race for young and old alike. Children as young as ten years old have completed the course successfully. Spectators are welcome to come and view the race. The course is visible to fans in select areas. This course is on private property with racing only permitted on race days.
